In order to get rid of homocysteine, one needs the vitamins B6, Folic acid, and B12 in adequate levels. Methylcobalamin is the active form of B12 and is much preferred for supplementation instead of the more common and more toxic cyanocobalamin. The other B vitamins are needed to make and use vitaletheine, and operate its monooxygenase receptor, thereby being essential for the regulation of virtually every biochemical reaction and pathway in the body. Thus, a good source of B vitamins is essential. Lean red meat that isn't microwaved can help provide this, but perhaps the richest source is brewer's yeast from oak barrels, or that has had the carcinogenic metals in stainless steel (Ni, Co, Cr) removed.
