Combining studies by Dr. Jan Frank that identified antioxidants enhancing levels of gamma-tocopherol (vtiamin E) with a structural and functional analyses of those select chemicals known to cause cancer suggests that sesamin is probably safer from Siberian ginseng (Eleuotherococcus senticosus) than from uncooked sesame seed oil, containing smaller and more volatile, carcinogenic compounds. Dr. Frank's work demonstrates that gamma-tocopherol accumulation is heavily favored by sesamin, and vitamin E has been previously shown to protect against oxidation without poisoning vitaletheine's monooxygenase receptor.
