Notes:

Sesamin is again the high five (not hands down) winner of gamma-tocopherol enhancement in the lung at 1556, the next highest benefit being observed, again, with alkylresorcinols at a mere 90. It would seem that such high values would be of interest to smokers, especially with the poor benefits obtained from beta-carotene. Ironically, beta-carotene interferes with the absorption of lycopene, so combining sesamin with lycopene, either from cooked tomatoes or unrefrigerated watermelons, could be a way of offsetting some of the lung cancer issues for tobacco users. This ignores the fact, however, that nicotine itself, once the body demethylates it, is carcinogenic all by itself, and its similarity to nicotinamide (vitamin B3) is unnerving.
